A Cry For Justice

Awakening the Evangelical Church to Domestic Violence and Abuse in its Midst

Reviewing the pace of this blog

As a team, (the two Jeffs, Megan and myself) we have been reviewing the rate at which we publish new posts.

We think perhaps we have been going a little too fast, so we have decided on a new schedule:-
A new post each weekday and none on the weekend.
This will give opportunity for our time-poor readers to catch up on the weekend, and it will also give comments a bit more room to breathe.

We have actually only being putting out one new post per day for the last week or so, but this is our ‘official’ announcement.

Informational posts like this one don’t count in the one per weekday schedule: they are extras.

We are always open to feedback on matters like this. You can send us feedback by commenting below, or can email Jeff C, Megan or myself. For our email addresses, go to Contact/About Us at the top of this blog.

If we get lots of feedback saying our publishing schedule is too slow (or too fast) we are happy to review it again.

Can I say Amen. I love all the posts but have felt there wasn’t enough time to process them!

  2. Thanks for the feedback, SS.

  3. Barnabasintraining

It did sometimes feel like there was a bit much going on. I think this is a good idea.

  4. MeganC

Ticking the box for feedback! :)

Is there a particular time each day that you plan to make the posts? or will it just be one every 24hrs or so randomly?

Bethany — We have been posting late afternoon/early evening Eastern Standard time. Is it helpful to have a set time we post each day?

      • Bethany

Not necessarily, late afternoon/early evening is a good enough slot for me :) I know not to be looking for anything new at 4am :)

      • Jeff S

Well, you can always look for Barbara’s comments at 4am . . .
        :p

      • Yeah, when I get to speak while you mob are silent. What power, eh? Actually, I feel a bit lonely when you all toddle off to bed…

      • Just Me

Guilty! I’ve checked the blog in the middle of the night to see what Barb has to say!

Looking back over the past few days I am encouraged by the resent changes! I think that since we know there is going to be only one post in a day we can focus our energy on that post and meditate more on it. I remember a post months ago in which Jeff C stated that the “doctrine heavy” posts weren’t receiving as much comments as the other more “application” based posts. I’m seeing that all the posts now are getting great comments because everyone on the blog is focused on one post instead of two or three like before.
    Just one persons observation :)

  7. One reality of our world today is “information”, but the rate the information comes through can be just as ineffective as if there were no information at all. Our human spirit can only take so much! This new pace you’re setting is wise, and also an encouragement to me. Let us, as writers, allow our readers to chew slowly. A group of young ladies and myself are going through a study right now and we decided right from the get go to do only three pages per week! What wisdom, thank you God! We humans are really lousy at taking things slow, chewing on words, waiting on God. And He is so patient. As I hope to start school in January, may I remember this nugget of wisdom myself, and take baby steps.
