A Cry For Justice

Awakening the Evangelical Church to Domestic Violence and Abuse in its Midst

2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. Our blog was viewed about 150,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 8 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Attractions in 2012

These are the posts that got the most views in 2012.

Our most commented on post in 2012 was John Piper’s “Clarifying Words on Wife Abuse” – are they helpful?

ALL our commenters are highly valued, but according to WordPress, these were our 5 most active commenters:

Congratulations to Jeff, Barbara, Megan and Jeff. Thank you all so much for your hard work and for your willingness to be our voice. I’m so thankful for each one of you!

  2. Many of us are no longer burying our heads in our feathers; some of us still have our heads under the feathers at times; but we all have that friendly budgie beside us being a companion of encouragement along the journey. :)

And we understand that ‘have faith’ does mean we must hang on to that perch for grim death while magically believing that God will wave a magic wand over abusers so that all the abuse stops.
Rather, we know it means that God loves you and he does not demand you suffer at the hands of an abusive spouse – he can help you get free and he can provide for your needs in many unexpected and delightful ways.

  3. And hey, there’s nothing wrong with putting one’s head under one’s feathers simply to have a nap! Rest is an essential part of recovery.
Happy New Year, everyone. And I beat you to it – it’s been 2013 for 15 hours here already!

    • Still scared( but getting angry)

Amen to both your comments above Barbara!

I don’t know how I would have gotten through this year, without having the encouragement and help I have received from this blog. Thank you Ps. Crippen, Barb, Megan and Jeff S. and all the others who have made this possible. Most of all thanks to God, for leading Ps. Crippen to teach the Church what He wants us to know about how He views abuse and divorce and bringing us His truth about it.

Thanks Anon – and we have learned a lot from you too!

    Gee. Chatty thing, aren’t I? :)

I notice also that almost 1/3 of those views have come about in the last 2 months or so. I take it word is getting out about this blog.

And Wartburg Watch is going to review your book, which is as they said, excellent. I can’t wait for that one!

I’m eager to see how God grows this thing this year. I have all kinds of ideas on what God should do so I hope He takes my advice. ;) Heh.

Barnabas was the Son of Encouragement, and so you have proven to be as well. Many blessings in 2013!

I read an amazing verse this morning to start the new year.

    Proverbs 6:5
Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

Just Me, Thank you for sharing this verse! It really is an amazing verse, and I’ve been thinking about it almost everyday since you first posted it. The visual it creates for me opens up a lot for me to think about. Thanks again for sharing it.
