Resurrection after Rape – a free book for you to review

I came across the book Resurrection After Rape some time ago but haven’t had time to look at it in detail. It is written by Matt Atkinson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a first nation man. I don’t think he is a Christian but from a quick scan of the contents page, he seems to know a lot about recovering from rape.

I’m putting a link to the book on our resources page, with a link back to this post. If you explore this book, can you please put your reviews or comments about it here, so other readers can see whether you found it helpful. In particular, if you find anything in the book that in your opinion runs counter to a Christian worldview, then let our readers know. I’m pretty sure there will be lots of good things in the book, but it’s nice to know if there are a few caveats for Christians. Eat the meat and spit out the bones, as they say.

Resurrection After Rape can be purchased at the link above, or downloaded as a FREE pdf.  Now that’s impressive!

There seems to be many other useful resources and free articles to download at the site. Add your feedback about those resources as well, if you wish. Happy reading!

UPDATE: We advise readers not to attend any seminars or retreats which are run by Matt Atkinson or his associates, because we’ve received credible reports that Matt Atkinson has co-facilitated with an abuser who has done a snow job on him.

I know Matt Atkinson. He was born and raised Christian. But the book is supposed to be for anyone and everyone who needs it, no matter their religious or spiritual background or even if they are atheist. Back when he was practicing clinical social work, he would definitely take a patient’s religious views into account during their recovery. Several patient contributors to “Resurrection After Rape” were Christians.

    • Thanks Tonya. Have your read the book yourself?

What a treasure!!! I downloaded the FREE pdf of the book and it was so good I spent all night reading it. EXCELLENT!!! This guy is fantastic and the fact that he makes this available for free?! Wow!!

I identified that I was raped and then endured backlash, hounding, pressure, intimidation, criminality, etc. until I finally recanted in hoping such would placate the criminal and his many, many allies.

Reading this book was wonderful as I haven’t been able to get counseling or anything specifically regarding the sexual assaults within a ‘marriage’ to a monster. The book addressed so many things and helped with the shame, blame, doubt, and other reactions that come about because of what has been done to you.
