A Cry For Justice

Awakening the Evangelical Church to Domestic Violence and Abuse in its Midst

The hypocrisy of lip service

An ancient anonymous inscription inside Lubeck Cathedral, Germany

Ye call Me Master and obey me not.
Ye call Me Light and see me not.
Ye call Me Way and walk me not.
Ye call Me Life and choose me not.
Ye call Me Wise and follow me not.
Ye call Me Fair and love me not.
Ye call Me Rich and ask me not.
Ye call Me Eternal and seek me not.
Ye call Me Noble and serve me not.
Ye call Me Gracious and trust me not.
Ye call Me Might and honor me not.
Ye call Me Just and fear me not.

If I condemn you, blame Me not.

Matthew 15:8-9
These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.

Isaiah 29:13-14
Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths

And honor Me with their lips,
But have removed their hearts far from Me,
And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work
Among this people,
A marvelous work and a wonder;
For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
And the understanding of their prudent
men shall be hidden.

  1. Rambling Rose Inspiration

Oh dear. They are blinded by the god of this world and don’t see their own sin as grievous sin. I’m in a group of about 25 women who pray for three hours every Monday morning for Jesus to open sin-blinded eyes and bring them all to revere and honor and obey and love Him. I can’t bite on bitterness because I know it will poison my own heart. True Justice comes from God alone, and I pray He sends it righteously to bring true conviction and repentance before these people blindly slide down the slippery slope to Hell.

  2. Seeing Clearly

God’s new work among this people will perhaps be a future event, but it is happening even today. It happens in small increments. Our eyes are slowly opening to the evil words and deeds. Only when we become aware can we act proactively against men who speak them.

This is a wonderful work of God in our lives to allow the eyes of our hearts to see evil, to act in wisdom to separate ourselves from it, (to various degrees). Even a tiny act of refusing to look in their eyes so that they are not allowed to look us in the eye.

Evil men will not give up their power, but we can render them powerless in our lives, one life at a time, one decisive move at a time.
